What is screen printing?

Screen printing is a printing process that uses mesh to transfer ink onto virtually any flat surface. For branded clothing, the surface would be fabric, however other promotional items made of plastic, wood, vinyl, and steel often have surfaces that also work well for this particularly versatile printing technique used in many branded items.

Most often used when ordering large amounts of branded merchandise, screen printing is especially prized for replicating designs involving multiple, vibrant colors. It offers the ability to use many colors on one item, and more ink is used in the process than in others – this delivers long-lasting imprints and richer color.

The screen printing process is also very quick – often offering the opportunity to deliver hundreds of high-quality branded items, such as t-shirts, within a few hours.

The price of screen printing is determined by the number of colors used. Therefore, the fewer colors needed for your design, the less expensive the screen printing will be. The price generally also increases if the printing is being produced on more than one location on an item and does not include the cost of the item being imprinted.
